Types of Personalisation

When you are discussing your requirements with our Sales staff, you have a number of options when it comes to the Personalisation of your garments. The suitability of each one is dependent on the garment being personalised, size and detail in your logo and on the quantity ordered.

Embroidery

Embroidery is best for creating logos on a thicker garment, such as a polo shirts or jumpers. Embroidery on garments are long lasting and durable. Embroidery may cost more than traditional printing, however the longevity makes it cost effective. With larger designs, we would recommend printing over embroidery. Not all designs are suitable for embroidery and therefore you should take this into consideration. For best results, avoid heavy gradients and a high use of complicated colour palates.

We would recommend that embroidery is used on polo shirts, jackets & fleeces, aprons, caps & hats and business shirts for professional workwear.

Screen Printing

T Shirt printing is ideal for promotional events. They are a great way to help people identify your cause or organisation. Personalised clothing acts as a walking advertisement. T Shirt printing is low cost so it is often bought in bulk. T-shirt printing is popular with businesses, and charities. It is also commonly used for stag nights, hen dos and holidays. T-shirt print tends to be larger, brighter and more ‘in your face’. The objective of the T Shirt is to get heads turning and focused on the cause or organisation listed on the T Shirt. Printing allows for more complicated designs when compared to embroidery.

Vinyl Transfer Print

Vinyl is great for personalising names and numbers on sports team kit, on school and university leavers' hoodies, tours for stag, hen, holidays. Vinyl is also better for customising high-visibility workwear and other nylon fabrics.

Vinyl printing is generally limited to simple text and designs. A single-colour print is the norm but we can overlay different colours of vinyl to produce some clever effects. 

Print & Cut Transfers

We love Print & Cut transfers because they can offer the ability to print multiple colors for one application. Very little labour is involved at the heat press. As opposed to other heat transfer methods where colors are cut separately from each other and need to be aligned together in separate application steps, a printed transfer prints all colors needed so no additional work is done during heat printing. It's particularly suitable for small quantities and a detailed design.
